DDA’s marketing executive, Monique JacobsA series of fringe events leading up to the eighth annual Jazz ‘n Creole Festival will be hosted by the Discover Dominica Authority (DDA) in collaboration with various stakeholders. The Jazz ‘n Creole Festival fringe events will commence on 28 May 2017 and climax with the main stage event at Fort Shirley in Cabrits on Sunday 4 June 2017.The week of fringe events, as revealed by DDA’s marketing executive, Monique Jacobs during a press conference on Thursday 11 May 2017 are as follows;Evergreen Hotel in Castle Comfort on May 28th; Urban Garden Café on 31 May; the Anchorage Hotel on 1 June, Fort Young Hotel on 2 June, Champs Hotel at Picard on 2 June, Atlantique View Resort and Spa on 3 June, and Riverstone Bar and Grill on 3 June. “We look forward to everyone participating at those fringe events. The fringe events are also an opportunity and the only opportunity that patrons get to buy their tickets at a discounted price,” Jacobs said. Artistes, who will perform at the fringe events, include Engine 3-O from Barbados, Band Akayo from the Kalinago Territory, Fanatik Band, Mel C, Breve and Michelle Henderson among other surprise performances. British jazz musician, Courtney Pine was earlier announced as the headliner for the main event on 4 June.Pine has released 16 studio albums to date and continues to tour worldwide with his award winning band playing clubs, concert halls and festivals from Glastonbury to Fuji Rock, Montreux to Cape Town.
