PHOTO/AFPISTANBUL, Turkey, Sep 26- Lukas Podolski is less than impressed with Jose Mourinho’s treatment of Bastian Schweinsteiger. The Galatasaray forward has hit out at the Manchester United boss after seeing his former Germany and Bayern Munich team-mate forced out of the picture at Old Trafford. Schweinsteiger joined United from Bayern ahead of the 2015-16 campaign. The 32-year-old struggled to make an impact in Manchester, partially due to injury problems, before new manager Mourinho quickly decided he no longer needed the German. This season Schweinsteiger has been dropped to the reserves, much to the dismay of Podolski.‘When you look at the career Bastian has had, I can only say that what is happening there is simply not right for a player of his stature,’ Podolski told Bild.‘I do not know what Mourinho has discussed with Bastian; but is clear that it is not okay to drop someone like Basti to the reserves. A coach should always keep his door open to all players, and especially to players like Schweini.’The former Arsenal striker retains a hope of seeing his former Bayern and Germany team-mate escape Old Trafford. Podolski is eyeing an MLS switch and thinks a move to the other side of the Atlantic could also work out for Schweinsteiger.‘I think America is great. Moving abroad is good for personality development and it would also be good for our children,’ added Podolski.‘Clearly it would be possible to play with Schweinsteiger in the States.’-By Daily Mail–0Shares0000(Visited 1 times, 1 visits today)last_img
