first_imgMicah Richards insists he will demand regular first-team football from his next club.The Manchester City defender’s contract expires in the summer, and the Blues have no interest in retaining the 26-year-old.Liverpool, Aston Villa and Sunderland have all been linked with moves for the right-back, who has spent this season on loan at Serie A side Fiorentina.And the England stopper claims he wants a guaranteed starting spot next season, having been restricted to just 14 starts for the Viola.“I’ve not played enough games out here [at Fiorentina],” he told the Alan Brazil Sports Breakfast show. “I feel I’ve done well enough to be in the starting XI.“Obviously being a loan player it’s difficult. I’ve loved every experience though and definitely feel I’ve improved as a player.“My last game is on Sunday and I’ll sit down and discuss with my family what the best thing is going forward.“It will be a team which guarantees me time though.“Over the last couple of seasons, at Man City when Pablo Zabaleta came in and did really well, I found myself on the bench.“Then I went to Italy and I was guaranteed to start, but they changed the formation and the manager believes he has other players who can play positions better than me.“I can hold my head up high though.”last_img
