Telltale released a Mr Robot game and its a real headscratcher

first_img <> Last week rumors swirled that Telltale Games was working on a Mr. Robot game, rumors that were as good as confirmed when the marketing folks started releasing hacker-ish tweets. Today at Gamescom it’s been made official- MR.ROBOT:1.51exfiltratiOn is a new title from Night School Studio. What’s more, it’s available for download right now.For $3 on iOS or Android you can get personally involved with fsociety, creepy mask not included. In what seems to be an experience similar to the excellent Lifeline series, you will actually play Exfiltration over the course of a week. The game will mimic a “E Corp Messaging App” and the story will play in real time, as the fsociety members text you and work with you in an attempt to hack Evil Corp.Ever want to chat with Darlene, Cisco, or Elliot from the show? This is as close as you’re going to get.If the naming convention is to be believed, the games seems like it should take place immediately after the sixth episode of the first season, eps1.5_br4ve-trave1er.asf. That’s the one that saw Elliot hacking a prison, leaving him… well, a bit out of sorts at the end. So don’t go into this expecting their typical adventure formula, as this is a Telltale game like no other. At the same time, the publisher guarantees that this offers an experience that their fans will love.“There’s a distinct Telltale style to all of the character interactions that our fans will find familiar, and fans of the show will be engrossed all through the night as they race to help fsociety pull off the unthinkable.” They have released the below developer interview to explain the game further. Good luck hacking the planet!last_img
